Students’ Perceptions of Translation: Art, Craft and/or Science?

The theories and application of translation have been investigated primarily from the perspective researchers, accredited translators, teachers, trainers. This study examines lenses through which students are motivated to embark on journey translation. Whereas has long considered be an art in translators principally rely their talent passion, or a profession practitioners expected acquired necessary skills, gained status as academic discipline its own past few decades. paper aims examine how different ethnic backgrounds perceive while studying subject at university. To do so, research questionnaire is devised obtain students’ perceptions whether they it art, craft, science. diverse backgrounds, specifically: Arabic, Kurdish, Persian. results reveal that student participants combination three elements craft science but slightly varying degrees.
